Your Food Diary: browse, copy, and edit
Last updated
The Food Diary shows your meals by day, grouped by type, with your daily total versus your goal — and you can copy meals to other days, adjust them, or delete them.
Browsing your days
- Open the Food Diary. It defaults to today.
- At the top is a week strip: tap a day to jump to it. Days where you logged something have a dot.
- Tap the calendar icon to open the month calendar and browse further back or forward; logged days are marked there too.
- Future days are tappable just like past days (up to a year ahead), so you can plan meals well in advance.
- Read the daily summary at the top: your calories versus your goal, and whether you still have room or are over. Below the calories are four macro bars — protein, carbs, fat, and fiber.
- Scroll through the meal-type sections (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks), each with its own calorie subtotal and a photo row per food.
Every date is available — there is no limited free version. You can browse up to a year back and a year ahead.
Copying and duplicating meals
Often eat the same thing? Then you don't have to log it again.
- Copy to… — tap More actions on a meal type and choose "Copy to…". Pick what you copy — This meal, Entire day, or Entire week — and which date to copy it to. That can be a future day.
- Quick duplicate — with "Duplicate to tomorrow" or "Duplicate to next week" you copy a meal in one tap.
- Yesterday — an empty meal type sometimes shows a "Yesterday" row with what you ate then; tap Copy to bring it into today.
Editing, clearing, or deleting a meal
- Tap a meal to open the edit screen.
- Adjust food items (name, portion, nutrition values), add or remove items, change the meal type (for example, move a snack to lunch), or update notes. Changes save immediately and the daily summary recalculates automatically.
- To delete one meal, swipe it left to reveal the delete option and confirm.
- To empty a whole meal type for a day, choose "Clear [meal type]" under More actions and confirm.
Good to know
- The date label shows relative references like "Today" and "Yesterday" for recent days.
- The calorie goal in the diary is the same goal as on your Dashboard: if you've connected a health app and "Adjust goal for activity" is on, it flexes with the calories you've burned.
- Each meal shows a photo thumbnail (if a photo was captured during scanning), the food name in your app language, the calories, and the macros.
- A copied meal is private — it is not shared to any group feed, even if the original was. You decide sharing fresh each time.
- If you copy to a future day and you have write-back to your health app switched on, the meal is written to your health app only once that day arrives.
- There is no separate save step — edits are kept right away. Deleting and clearing always ask for confirmation.
- A missed day is neutral: the diary never penalizes you.
Common questions
I can't find a meal from a past day. Use the week strip or the calendar icon; logged days are marked with a dot.
How do I copy yesterday's breakfast to today? On the meal type, choose More actions → Copy to…, or use the "Yesterday" row when it appears.
Can I copy a whole day or week at once? Yes — in Copy to… pick the scope Entire day or Entire week and the target date.
What does "Clear [meal type]" do? It removes all items of that meal type for that day. You're asked to confirm first; it can't be undone.
My day total looks off. Check that the correct date is selected and that all meals are under the right type; otherwise pull down to refresh.
I can't find the delete option. Swipe the meal left to reveal it.
