Account deletion

Last updated: May 7, 2026

This page explains how to permanently delete your Moveno account, which data we erase, and what may temporarily remain in encrypted backups.

1. Delete from the app (recommended)

The fastest way is from inside the Moveno app:

  1. Open Moveno on your phone and sign in
  2. Go to the Profile tab
  3. Tap Privacy
  4. Tap Delete account
  5. Confirm your choice

Your account is marked for deletion immediately and you are signed out. Deletion completes within 30 days.

2. Delete by email (alternative)

If you no longer have access to the app — for example because you uninstalled it or lost your phone — send a deletion request to:

privacy@moveno.co

Subject: Account deletion request

Include the email address of the Moveno account you want to delete. We verify the request (so nobody else can delete your account) and confirm completion within 30 days.

3. What gets deleted?

We erase all personal data we hold about you, including:

  • Account details (email address, display name, password)
  • Profile data (height, weight, age, nutrition goals and preferences)
  • Food logs and weight history
  • Meal photos and any corrections you submitted
  • Consent records and cookie preferences
  • Activity in any in-app community features

Apple and Google retain their own subscription records, which you can manage through your App Store or Google Play account.

4. What may remain temporarily in backups?

  • Security backups within our EU infrastructure (Frankfurt) may briefly contain encrypted copies of your data. These are automatically overwritten within 30 days.
  • Anonymized, aggregated statistics (for example "total scans this month") are no longer linkable to you and are retained for up to 26 months in line with our privacy policy.

We never retain identifying data longer than strictly necessary.

5. Other rights

If you don't want a full deletion but instead want a copy of your data or a correction, email privacy@moveno.co. A complete overview of your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is in our privacy policy.
