Finding a recipe and logging it to your diary

Last updated

One tap puts the whole recipe in your diary — every ingredient, at the serving size you actually ate.

The recipe library holds recipes from Moveno, from the community, and your own. You log them to your diary straight from the library.

How it works — logging a recipe

  1. Open your Diary tab and tap "Full library" in the Recipes block. (Or use the Recipe button on your home screen.)
  2. Search by name or by ingredient, or browse the Discover, My recipes and Favourites tabs.
  3. Tap a recipe to open it. You will see the nutrition per serving, the ingredients and the method.
  4. Choose Add to diary.
  5. Set the number of servings you ate and pick the meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack).
  6. Confirm. The recipe is now in your diary, with all of its ingredients.

In a hurry? Swipe a recipe left in the list and tap Log.

Searching and filtering

A few controls above the list help you find things quickly:

  • SEARCH IN — show only Moveno recipes, only Community ones, or everything.
  • MEAL — filter by breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack.
  • Filters — filter by dietary preferences and allergens, the same ones you use elsewhere in the app.
  • Sort — by Most cooked, New, or Calories.

From your Diary you can skip the filters entirely: the Moveno, Community and Favourites buttons take you straight to the right selection.

Favourites

Tap the heart on a recipe to save it. Everything you save appears under the Favourites tab and behind the Favourites button in your diary — so your regulars stay within reach without searching.

Good to know

  • A logged recipe is an ordinary meal. It lands in your diary as individual ingredients, so your calories and macros work exactly as they do for any other meal, and you can edit it afterwards.
  • Servings scale everything. Log 0.5 of a serving and every ingredient is halved.
  • Logging a recipe never shares anything to a group. Even if you are in a group that shares by default, a recipe you log always starts as not shared. If you do want to share that meal, you switch it on yourself.
  • "cooked ×" is a counter, not a ranking. A recipe shows how often it has been logged in total. It is a sum, and it can never be traced back to a person.
  • Delete a logged recipe from your diary and all its ingredients go with it. The meal disappears as a whole; the recipe itself of course stays.

Common questions

I only ate half. What now? Set the servings to 0.5 when adding it. Everything is scaled down accordingly.

Can I edit a logged recipe afterwards? Yes. It sits in your diary as a normal meal — open it and adjust ingredients or amounts.

Does my diary change if someone edits the recipe later? No. The values are copied across at the moment you log it. A later change to the recipe does not touch meals you already logged.

Why can't I see a particular recipe? Check your filters — an active filter on meal, source or dietary preference hides part of the list. If you have blocked the author, you will not see their community recipes either.

Do recipes count towards my group or the leaderboard? A logged recipe counts as a meal, exactly like any other. What ends up in a group feed is still your own per-meal choice.
