Adjusting portions and counts
Last updated
Amount not quite right? For countable foods, change the number of pieces with the +/− stepper; for everything else, adjust the grams. Nutrition recalculates instantly.
How it works
- On the results screen, find the item you want to adjust.
- For countable foods, use the stepper (e.g. − | 4 stuks | +) to change the number of pieces — calories and macros update live.
- For other foods, tap the gram pill or expand the item and use the portion slider to change the amount in grams.
- Check that the rest of the meal is correct, then tap Save.
Good to know
- Countable foods use count × typical unit weight from Moveno's database instead of a guess from the photo. This fixes a common over-estimate of about 20% (e.g. 4 fried eggs read as 440 kcal, not 528).
- The stepper only appears for foods the database knows are countable: eggs, bread slices, cheese slices, apples, banana, orange, potato, tomato, kroket, frikandel, bitterbal, and similar staples in the NL/DE/US sources.
- Continuous foods (rice, pasta, sauce, yogurt, oil) always use the gram pill or slider, never a stepper.
- When you change a count or gram amount, the item is marked as edited by you.
- Cooking method (e.g. a dry-fried vs butter-fried egg) is not auto-detected — database values assume standard preparation, so adjust manually for extra butter or oil.
- Some countable items (such as apples, which vary 120–220 g) use a median weight and may be off by about 15% per piece. Fine-tune with the gram pill if needed.
- Products scanned by barcode generally do not use count reconciliation; adjust the number of servings instead.
Common questions
The egg or slice count is wrong. Use the +/− stepper to set the right number; nutrition updates immediately.
I added butter to my bread but it isn't counted. Cooking-method extras aren't auto-detected — adjust the portion or add the item manually.
There's no +/− stepper on my item. That food is treated by weight (continuous); use the gram pill or slider.
My change didn't stick. Make sure you tapped Save after adjusting.
