Chatting with your AI coach

Last updated

Ask your AI coach a question about your training and your nutrition. It only ever looks at your own data in Moveno.

The AI coach is a chat grounded in your own workouts, recent sessions, goal, and diary. It explains things, swaps an exercise safely, and thinks along about your food — within boundaries we built in deliberately.

How it works

  1. Open the Coach tab at the bottom of the app — the chat icon.
  2. Type your question. It can be about training (an exercise, an alternative) or about nutrition (your goal, what still fits in your day, a snack).
  3. If the coach proposes a swap, you see a suggestion → you confirm → the workout refreshes. Don't like it? Undo it with one tap.

What the AI coach deliberately does not do

These are choices, not shortcomings:

  • No medical advice and no diagnosis. For pain, complaints, or any doubt about your health, the coach points you to a professional.
  • Never prescribes a weight. The coach thinks along about structure — exercises, sets, reps, rest — but how much you lift is your call.
  • Never goes below the calorie safety floor. Moveno keeps a floor under your daily calories. The coach never advises below it, however you phrase the question.
  • No allergen assurances. The coach never tells you something is safe with an allergy or intolerance. Always check the label yourself.

How many questions can you ask?

The coach answers most questions right away, and there is no daily limit on those.

For in-depth questions it brings in a heavier AI model. Only those longer answers are capped:

  • 5 per day for training
  • 5 per day for nutrition

They are two separate counters, so your nutrition questions never eat into your training questions. The counter resets every day. And once you have used up your in-depth answers, the coach keeps working — you simply get the instant answers. We may adjust these numbers.

Good to know

  • You're chatting with AI, not a person. The coach can make mistakes. The chat itself says so too.
  • It only looks at your own data — your own workouts, sessions, goal, and diary. Never anyone else's.
  • Nutrition questions need your AI food recognition permission. With it off, the coach still answers your training questions but not your nutrition ones. You turn it on under Settings → Preferences → Privacy & data — see Why does Moveno ask permission before scanning food?.
  • The coach never writes to your diary by itself. If it offers to log something, you get a button; nothing is saved until you tap it.
  • The coach only swaps to real exercises from the Moveno library — it doesn't make anything up — and it accounts for injuries while doing so.
  • Generating a full workout is a different thing from chatting and has its own monthly limit — see Generating a workout with AI.

Common questions

Can the coach assess my injury? No. The coach does not diagnose. For pain or complaints, consult a professional.

What happens when I run out of my 5 in-depth answers? Nothing breaks. You can keep chatting: you get the instant answers, and the counter is back to zero the next day.

Does the coach really swap to existing exercises? Yes — it only picks from the Moveno library, so you never get a made-up exercise.

Can I undo a suggested change? Yes — a swap is reversible with one tap.
