Sharing a workout by code
Last updated
Share a workout's layout with a friend via a short code or a link — without sending your personal data.
You can share the structure of a workout: the exercises, order, supersets, set counts, rep ranges, rest, and RPE targets. Your personal data never travels with it.
How it works
- Open the workout you want to share and choose the share option.
- Moveno creates an 8-character code and a link (
https://www.moveno.co/w/CODE). - Send the code or link to the other person. The link opens Moveno directly on the recipient's phone with the code pre-filled. If they don't have the app yet, the link leads to the app store and the code is preserved.
- The recipient imports the workout and gets a clean template to fill in themselves.
What is and isn't shared
- Shared: the exercises, order, supersets, set counts, rep ranges, rest, and RPE targets.
- Not shared: your entered weights, your notes, the cover image, your session history, and your personal records. These are always stripped on import.
Good to know
- You can regenerate a code (the old one becomes invalid immediately) or disable it without replacement (further imports fail gracefully). Both are reversible: you can mint a new code any time.
- Sharing by code is different from sharing in a group — a group only sees that you did a workout, not its contents. See Workouts in your groups.
Common questions
Can the other person see my weights? No. Only the structure is shared; your weights, notes, and history stay private.
Can I revoke a shared code? Yes — you can regenerate or disable it. Existing imports remain, but the code stops working afterward.
The link says the workout is no longer shared. The code was regenerated or disabled. Ask the owner for a new one.
