Reminders and notifications
Last updated
A friendly daily reminder to log your meals, plus a notice when offline meals finish syncing.
Moveno can send you local notifications. The main one is an optional daily meal reminder at a time you choose (default 12:00). You'll also get a notice when meals you logged while offline have finished syncing. All notifications stay local to your device — Moveno does not send marketing push notifications.
How it works
- First time: after you log your first meal, Moveno may ask whether you want to enable reminders. Tap to allow and pick a time, or tap Later to skip.
- Manage it any time: go to Profile > Preferences > Notifications (Daily reminder).
- Turn the daily reminder ON; allow notifications in the system dialog if asked.
- Pick your reminder time in the time picker and confirm.
- Tap the time row later to change the time, or use "Test reminder" to fire one immediately and confirm it works.
- Turn it OFF to stop the daily reminder (your last-chosen time is remembered for next time).
Good to know
- The default reminder time is 12:00; the time picker uses 5-minute steps.
- Notifications require system permission. If you denied them or later disabled them in iOS/Android Settings, Moveno shows a banner with a link to open Settings.
- Whether the first-time primer was already shown is also remembered server-side, so reinstalling won't nag you again.
- There are two notification types: the daily meal reminder (high priority, sound/vibration) and offline-sync completion notices (shown when queued meals have uploaded).
- All notifications are generated locally on your device; there are no remote marketing pushes.
- On Android, separate notification channels exist for "Meal Reminder" and "Offline Sync", which you can fine-tune in Android system settings.
Common questions
I'm not getting my reminder. Check that notifications are allowed for Moveno in your phone's system settings; the in-app banner links there.
I want to change the reminder time. Go to Profile > Preferences > Notifications and tap the time row.
The reminder text is in the wrong language. Switch the app language; reminders re-schedule in the new language.
I logged meals offline — how do I know they synced? Moveno sends a local notification when offline meals finish uploading.
The test reminder did nothing. Notifications must be granted; the test only fires when you've given permission.
