Change the app language
Last updated
Moveno's menus and buttons are available in Dutch and English; you switch with one tap.
Moveno's interface (menus, buttons, text) is available in Dutch and English. New users start in Dutch if their device is set to Dutch, otherwise in English. You can change the language manually in Preferences, and your choice is saved and synced to your account.
How it works
- Go to Profile > Preferences.
- In the Appearance section, find the Language row (showing "Nederlands" or "English").
- Tap the Language row to switch between Dutch and English — the interface updates immediately.
- Your choice is saved on your device and to your profile, so it follows you to your other devices.
Good to know
- The interface languages are Dutch (nl) and English (en) only. Tapping the row cycles between these two.
- Default on first launch: Dutch if the device language is Dutch, English for everything else (including German, French, and so on).
- Missing translations fall back to English.
- Food results and food-name translation are separate from this and support eight languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Polish. These are used to display food data, not the app menus.
- Switching the language re-schedules any active daily meal reminder so its text matches your new language.
- Numbers, dates and decimal separators follow the app's language locale (Dutch, for example, uses a comma as the decimal separator).
Common questions
My app is in English but I want Dutch. Go to Profile > Preferences and tap the Language row to switch to Nederlands.
Why are the menus only Dutch or English when food names show in my own language? The menus support Dutch and English; food data is translated separately into eight languages.
My German/French device shows English menus. That's expected; only Dutch devices default to Dutch. You can switch the language manually.
Will my language choice carry to my other phone? Yes, your choice is saved to your profile and synced.
