After you share a recipe
Last updated
An approved recipe stays in the community. Taking your name off it is always possible.
You submitted a recipe and it says In review. This article explains what happens next.
The review
Someone at Moveno looks at every submitted recipe. That is human work, so it can take a little while. You do not need to do anything: the outcome appears on the recipe under My recipes.
If your recipe is approved
Two things happen at once:
- A copy joins the community. That copy belongs to Moveno and is visible to everyone, with your first name on it.
- Your own recipe comes back to you, private again. You can keep using, editing and logging it as before.
So there are two separate copies. If you edit your own recipe afterwards, the community version does not change with it. To update the community version, choose "Submit updated version" — that update goes through review again.
At the top of My recipes you will see an "In the community" block listing the recipes you have shared.
If your recipe is not approved
You will see Rejected, with a reason where we can give one. That is not the end of the road:
- Choose "Edit and resubmit", fix what was wrong, and send it again.
- A rejection does not cost you a slot in your daily limit.
Taking your name off a shared recipe
No longer want your first name on a shared recipe?
- Go to My recipes.
- Open the shared recipe, or use the "In the community" block.
- Choose "Remove my name" and confirm.
The recipe stays in the community, but is shown as "Community" instead of with your name. Note that this cannot be undone.
If you delete your Moveno account, the same thing happens automatically — your name is removed from shared recipes and they are shown anonymously from then on.
Other people's recipes
Reporting a recipe. Is something wrong with a community recipe, or does it not belong here? Open the recipe, tap More options and choose "Report recipe". You will see "Thanks. We'll take a look." and Moveno reviews it.
Blocking an author. Do not want to see someone's recipes any more? Open one of that author's recipes, tap More options and choose "Block this author". After that:
- You stop seeing that author's community recipes.
- It applies to you only — the author is not notified.
- You can undo it in Profile → Preferences → Privacy & data → Blocked authors.
Blocking a recipe author is separate from blocking someone in a group. That is deliberate: a community author is only ever shown to you by first name, and we do not link those two worlds together.
Good to know
- Deleting your own recipe does not remove the community version. The confirmation says so too. If you want your name off, use "Remove my name".
- You can delete a recipe that is under review — that withdraws your submission.
- Meals you already logged always stay, whatever happens to the recipe.
Common questions
How long does review take? There is no fixed turnaround — a person looks at it. You do not need to do anything; the status changes by itself.
I improved my shared recipe. Do others see that? Not automatically. Choose "Submit updated version"; once approved, the community version is updated.
I want my recipe out of the community entirely. Is that possible? An approved recipe stays — that is also stated up front when you share. You can always have your name removed. If you are stuck, contact support.
What happens to my shared recipes if I delete my account? The recipes stay in the community, but your name is removed and they are shown as "Community".
Does someone get notified when I block them? No. Blocking is visible only to you.
