Onboarding and your personalized plan

Last updated

In about two minutes, Moveno builds a personalized calorie and macro plan for you, tuned to your goal, your body and your activity.

How it works

Setup has 14 screens. A progress bar shows "Step X of 13", then "Almost done…", then "Done".

  1. Welcome — tap "Aan de slag" (Get started), or "Ik heb al een account" to sign in.
  2. Intro — pick your goal (Lose / Maintain / Gain weight), view the intro screens.
  3. Account + consent — create your account. See Creating your Moveno account.
  4. Name — enter your first name for the dashboard greeting (you can skip).
  5. Country — pick your country (auto-detected from your device language).
  6. Stats — enter gender, current weight (kg), height (cm) and date of birth (minimum age 16).
  7. Activity — choose your activity level (Sedentary / Light / Moderate / Active / Very active).
  8. Preferences — optionally pick dietary preferences (or skip).
  9. Plan — watch the calculation, then see your calorie target, macro chips and fiber goal.
  10. Get started — you receive your trial and land on the dashboard.

How your plan is calculated

Moveno uses the Mifflin-St Jeor formula, a widely used way to estimate how many calories your body burns at rest. We multiply that by your activity level to find your daily need. Then we adjust it based on your goal (lose, maintain or gain) to get your calorie target. Your macros (protein, carbs, fat) and fiber goal follow from there; the fiber goal depends on gender (male 30 g, female 25 g, other 28 g).

Updating your plan later

Your plan isn't set in stone. Go to Settings → Goals and tap Update plan to recalculate it with the same method used during setup:

  • Your stats — your current weight is filled in automatically from your latest weigh-in; adjust height and activity where needed.
  • Your goal — choose lose, maintain or gain, set a target weight for the first time, and pick your pace (0.1 to 1.0 kg per week).
  • Live preview — you see your new calorie and macro targets right away, plus an estimate of when you'll reach your target weight.

A safety floor. Moveno never lets your calorie target drop below a safe minimum. If you try to set an unsafe low target by hand, it's gently blocked — this protects a healthy relationship with food. If you need a lower target under professional supervision, please discuss it with a professional first.

Finishing a goal and starting a new one

When you want to change direction — say from losing to maintaining — you finish your current goal. You first see a short summary (how long it lasted and how much your weight changed), then move straight on to setting your new goal. Your finished goal is saved to your goal history.

Your goal history

Once you've finished one goal, a history button appears on your weight card and a Goal history row under Settings → Goals. There you'll find every goal: the period, how much your weight changed, and how your calorie target evolved over time. The view is neutral — losing, maintaining and gaining are shown the same way, without judgment.

Fine-tuning your plan from your trend (optional)

Under Settings → Goals you can turn on Calibrate goal from your trend. Moveno then occasionally looks at your actual weight trend and suggests a small adjustment to your calorie target. If you accept it, your macros (protein, carbs, fat) are rescaled to match, so everything stays consistent. It's always a suggestion you accept or dismiss yourself.

Good to know

  • Your goal sets the direction of your calorie target (lower, equal or higher).
  • Country is a soft ranking signal that lifts local products in search results — not a filter.
  • The default pace is 0.5 kg/week for losing or gaining; adjustable later via Settings → Goals → Update plan.
  • You can change everything (goals, stats, preferences, name) later in Settings (via your profile photo in the top right).
  • At the end you get 7 days of full Premium, with no credit card. Read more in Your free trial and the paywall.

Common questions

The date-of-birth picker won't let me pick a recent year. The minimum age is 16, so dates that make you younger are blocked.

Where do I change my goal or calorie target later? Via Settings → Goals → Update plan. That's also where you set your target weight and pace.

My plan numbers seem off. They're calculated from your stats and activity. Update your plan via Settings → Goals → Update plan to recalculate.
